Canterbury > Bed & Breakfast (B&B) > Heathwood Lodge B B

Heathwood Lodge was built in 1910, not originally as a bed and breakfast house but as a Summer residence for a business family who lived and traded in nearby Folkestone. Having typically high Edwardian ceilings and Victorian styled fireplaces, the complete house was originally internally boarded out with a pine boarding which was designed to act as insulation both in Summer and Winter. Guests will be pleased to know that full central heating is installed throughout together with water softening and a pressurised hot water system. One special architectural feature of the house is the coloured glass top hung window sashes which are typical of the late Victorian period. All BandB guests have a full opportunity to enjoy the relaxing flower filled garden at any time with tea and refreshments available on better weather days. The house is set in a very rural, quiet area of six acres with excellent walkinghiking, cycling or horse riding facilities on the immediate doorstep.
